My Petal isn't connecting or my device is not found, what should I do?

  1. Make sure your Petal is charged. If actively charging, the light will stay green and turn off when fully charged.

  2. Check and reset the Bluetooth® permissions for the Petal app:
(System Settings > Apps > Petal Wellness)

3. Toggle Bluetooth® off and back on:

4. After that, please check the state of the Bluetooth® connection on Petal by pressing the button once. The LED will blink red if it has established a Bluetooth® connection with your phone.

If you're still having trouble, follow these next steps to clear the device Bluetooth® bonding:

  1. In iOS, go to Settings > Bluetooth® and find a petal device in the "My Devices" list.

  2. Tap "i" then tap "Forget This Device"

  3. Connect Petal to the charging cable to reboot it. The LED will quickly turn green, turn off, and turn green again.

  4. Disconnect Petal from the charging cable.

  5. Within 30 seconds, quickly press the button twice or until you see the LED (Blue or Red).

  6. The LED will blink blue or red, then turn off — the device Bluetooth bonding is now cleared, and Petal is ready to pair again.

  7. Go into the Petal app and see if your device can be found and paired.

How do I check if Petal is already paired?

Press the button once and the status LED will blink.

Blinking blue — Petal is not currently bonded to any phone (ready to pair).

Blinking white or red — Petal already has an active Bluetooth bond.
