Our Story

Our founder Anand Janefalkar witnessed the devastating impact of breast cancer when a loved one was taken far too young. This tragedy exposed a startling reality first hand: the standard for monitoring women's health is fundamentally under-prioritized, and female physiology is often misunderstood.

Bringing expertise in AI, wearable hardware and holistic wellness, in 2022 Anand began hiring the founding team to develop Petal with the singular goal to bridge the gap in women's health care by making longitudinal monitoring the gold standard. Our priority is to address the two leading health crises women face today: heart disease and breast cancer. We're doing this through the first wearable technology built exclusively for women's biology.

While Petal currently provides cardiovascular and metabolic insights, our vision goes much further. We are committed to a rigorous path of clinical trials and regulatory oversight to achieve our North Star of providing women with product features that support early anomaly detection in breast tissue.
